Banshee doesn't detect iPod

I have Arch x86_64 installed on a Intel Core 2 Duo with an nVidia 8600 GT GPU. Kernel Version is 2.6.35

I have installed banshee 1.8 from the extra repository. My iPod is being detected by gtkPod but not by banshee. The iPod gets mounted automatically in gnome.
The CLI o/p while starting banshee is :

Re: Banshee doesn't detect iPod

I have the exact same problem here, different device but the same error message. HAL is not installed but I thought that banshee moved to udev with v1.8? So far I did not find a way to fix it...

Re: Banshee doesn't detect iPod

I think banshee has not shifted to udev from v1.8. I started the HAL daemon and it detected it. But still it sometimes does and sometimes doesn't. So I just need to restart the daemon manually before executing the banshee binary.

Re: Banshee doesn't detect iPod

I'm also having this problem.  Anyone know of a way to make it work without HAL?

Re: Banshee doesn't detect iPod

You could try to install banshee from my repository which built with libgpod support instead of ipod-sharp until Arch devs add this feature to the official repo.
