I'm a bit of an Arch noob, coming from Ubuntu (and Fedora and Mandriva/Mandrake before), so this is my first foray into really building Linux from the base package up. I installed E17 via pacman, along with SLiM, and decided I didn't like it (I'm going to go with Fluxbox), so I uninstalled E17 and rebooted. Unfortunately, I didn't uninstall SLiM, and now get prompted by the SLiM login prompt at boot. When I try to login as root, it simply cycles back to the login screen again.
So finally my question; How do I boot into some short of Terminal/Bash Shell, instead of straight to the display manager. I'm sure it's something in the GRUB boot option, I'm just not sure what.
Thanks in advance!

You just need to change back whatever you did to get slim working in the first place. If you forgot the wiki was probably your source of information.
Though if you have fluxbox you probably just want to change slim to run fluxbox, not disable slim completely.

What happens if you just switch to a virtual terminal (Ctrl-Alt-F1, F2, etc)?

Thanks! I wasn't sure how to do this on Arch! (That was exactly what I was looking for.)

FYI nothing Arch-specific going on there - that's the same on all distros.
