Re: [solved] very very big disaster

Use your backups?

If you boot from the install disk, can fdisk see the original partitions (DO NOT try to change anything)?

Where did /home exist? Did you have one very large /, or did you have a separate home partition which was mounted at /home ??  Are you using a RAID?

Re: [solved] very very big disaster

please use sensible subject titles. "very very big disaster" doesn't make any sense to people who would be willing to help.

Also if you get any errors: you have to list them as is.  "sudo 1004" doesn't make sense.

Please read this forum rule about how to ask for help : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … ow_to_Post

Re: [solved] very very big disaster

You can start by chrooting into your system, see this: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Chroot

Okay, boot from Arch and post the output of:
mount
and
cat /etc/fstab

Also, what is the partition on which /home lives ?

Re: [solved] very very big disaster

solved, more or less, just for the time to prepare a format.....

solved using chroot and reinstalling base group

but the real problem was that pacman has saved old config's files appending ".pacorig" so arch couldn't find some piece of system

thanks to all
