Obviously it is because Arch hates you.

Are you using pmount? Please, read the wiki.
You can paste error messages from the terminal, just be sure to enclose them in [ code ] tags https://bbs.archlinux.org/help.php#bbcode

Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

richardm198030, you can use any online image service to host your screenshots.

And please update your topic title to reflect the actual problem you are experiencing.

I am using startx to log into my rick account..  I first sign in as rick in Terminal, rather than GDM, then I type startx and hit enter, is that the reason why I can't mount drives?

How do I update my title?

Click 'edit' on your initial post.

And you'll need to re-read the wiki on starting X. You probably need ck-launch-session at least.

Re: What is it with Arch?

You have asked for help, albeit in an inappropriate manner. People have kindly responded with follow-up questions, as you have provided no relevant details about your issue. The very least you can do is provide full, detailed, helpful answers to those questions.

And just so you're clear, "Nope, I'm not" is not full, detailed, or helpful.
