[SOLVED] Updating Old System

I have an old system that hasn't been updated in ages, and it is still using the old .tar.gz packages rather than the new .xz ones. I think the reason the file is not found here is because of that, but I have no idea how to fix it.

(this occurs with any mirrors)
I can't even update the package database.

What do I do?

Solved
Downloaded the current packages pacman wanted to upgrade to from ARM search. After pacman was updated with xv-utils, downloaded latest pacman package and installed it with pacman -U. From there, databases could be updated again.
