I am KDE 4.6, using Catalyst. Some strange problems have come up over the last few days (and I cannot remember after which updates!)
(1) Whenever I open Konsole, KMix opens along with it !
(2) Chromium is using too much CPU. I partly fixed the problem by clearing cache. But the amount of CPU usage is still too high. 50-60% while playing a flash video!
(3) Programmes are taking way too long to launch when Chromium is running. However, if I run them from the konsole (instead of clicking on icons), they launch normally.
(4) I lose connection to my wired network quite often. The only solution is to make network manager disconnect, and reconnect to the network.
Thanks in advance
P.S. My system was working just fine, till a few days back.

Please use a descriptive title to your thread that tells people what your issue is:

There are any number of threads about KDE 4.6: start by reading some of those and searching for issues similar to your own.

Hi, I can only really think of something for problem #4 . . . a lot of people have problems with slash hate Network Manager. Try using wicd instead. I had similar problems and switching to wicd solved them. The only thing about wicd is that it doesn't support VPN connections, which I now need, considering I live in China and must hurdle the Great Firewall. Give it a try!

@jason: Hey, I was already active on the KDE 4.6 thread, and know the issues discussed there. I am not being able to trace the problems, hence the thread here. Hope it isn't a problem.
@turvyc: Solved 2, 3 and 4 by reinstalling KDE 4 (deleted .kde4 folder). I do not use wicd because somehow it doesn't work with my university wifi, and works like a charm with nm. However, that problem seems to have fixed itself. Thanks nevertheless
The only problem now is that everytime I open Konsole, kmix fires-up along witth it (
This is the output on terminal:
[devadittya@arch_devb ~]$ konsole
konsole(5499)/kdeui (kdelibs): Attempt to use QAction "" with KXMLGUIFactory!
konsole(5499)/kdeui (kdelibs): Attempt to use QAction "" with KXMLGUIFactory!
And I am not being able to trace it at all.

Have you got kmix in your bashrc?
cat ~/.bashrc
Also have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling kdemultimedia-kmix

Thanks SS4. That solved the issue. Had kmix in .bashrc Removing it fixed the problem.
