[SOLVED]mpd Directory Question

I have a question on mpd and multiple directories. I have my songs organized so that its divided by Artist - Album - Song Files.  I checked the mpd wiki and it shows how to use symlinks, but is there a way to link every directory under the master directory to be linked to the master directory at once? With the method shown in their wiki, I would have to link every album directory to my master directory, right?

Re: [SOLVED]mpd Directory Question

First off, welcome.
Second, you really should start a second thread for your second, unrelated thread.  I'm certain if you don't, a moderator will be along to smite you.

As to the MPD question, do the files have have a common root somewhere up the tree? (hopefully not all the way up to / )

What's wrong with asking 2 things in 1 thread?

To answer yours, all my music files are in another partition that I mount in /mnt/media, but I can change that if it makes things easier.

I think you can make that as the MPD music directory.  It will descend the tree from there to find all the files in all the subdirectories.  I could be wrong.

Sorry, I moved the other question to another topic.

Nothing shows up in ncmpcpp

Re: [SOLVED]mpd Directory Question

I didn't know you had to manual update your database...

mpc update fixed it.
