boinc & ATI HD3650

Arch x64. Catalyst 10.12.
Boinc manager says: "No usable GPUs found"

How can I use my GPU on boinc?

Re: boinc & ATI HD3650

Does "amdstream" solve the problem somehow?
Or maybe it depends on type of project? BTW I use WCG.

Ok, I have found recently a link on that case:
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dev/forum_thr … true#34659
Maybe it could help someone.

Re: boinc & ATI HD3650

Found the same explanation on how to use GPU on Arch's BOINC page under "Projects Using GPU".
Works here with HD4870 and catalyst 11.2 and appears that amd-stream isn't needed for BOINC:

Tue 01 Mar 2011 11:18:37 PM EET Local time is UTC +2 hours
Tue 01 Mar 2011 11:18:38 PM EET ATI GPU 0: ATI Radeon HD 4700/4800 (RV740/RV770) (CAL version 1.4.1016, 512MB, 1360 GFLOPS peak)
Tue 01 Mar 2011 11:18:38 PM EET AQUA@home URL http://aqua.dwavesys.com/; Computer ID 99693; resource share 100

EDIT: It appears that executed in /etc/rc.local doesn't work for BOINC, I got "No usable GPU's found" after the restart. Had to execute "xhost local:boinc" and "/etc/rc.d/boinc restart" with sudo to use the GPU again. So the following isn't working, sorry if I misled someone.

I only added

xhost local:boinc

in gnome-session-properties /startup applications/, but I still have to restart boinc after startup.

EDIT2: The only way I was able to resolve this was to put a cron job for restarting boinc every time right before the start time /Scheduled boinc for night hours/. Used vcron from AUR

* 22 * * * /etc/rc.d/boinc restart
