Cursorjumping in Arch, Logitech G9x

Hi!

I looked in the wiki but didnt find anything about this, tried switching polling rate to 1000hz, but it didnt work.

(TL;DR: I switched my mouse)
I was going just fine with my Razer Lachesis on my freshly installed Arch linux dist when i realised that my Logitech G9x laser mouse would fit better for my stationed laptop at home while using my Razer Lachesis on my netbook because of the cable being abit wierd. So i switched to the G9x and found out that it didnt work well at all (it does work fine on my netbook), I discovered that I am having problems with cursorjumping.

Now I know i can just switch my mouse but I would rather like the problem solved. I made a picture in Gimp where I drew 2 lines from the top-left to bottom-right just to show you my problem, now I drew these two lines as straight as i could but it shure is not straight.

http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/1539 … umping.jpg

The first part of the second line is where it really went apesh**, it even went in the opposite direction and made somewhat of a turn. This is really annoying and it works just fine on my netbook (Win7 w/ drivers).

Any idea on what to do?

Try on a different surface. I have a g9 and have no problem with it in archlinux at all.

Thanks, but I have already tried that. It does not help. Also my mousepad is completely black so no different colors on it that could disrupt.

Try to hold you hand a little more steady smile jk. I am not sure as I do not have any problems with it.

The only other thing I can think of trying is a linux live cd and see if you have the same problem or windows on the machine you have the problems on. I see you say it works fine in windows on your netbook but it may be some hardware problem on your other computer causing the problem.

Try switching USB ports.

Re: Cursorjumping in Arch, Logitech G9x

Using another USB-port did not solve my problem and I have used this mouse with this computer before when I had Win7 installed on it and it worked just fine like on the netbook.

As a note: more DPI = more cursorjumping.
