how many process for each application?

Hello everybody!

a quick question from a new user:
willing to know how much memory archbang uses I installed htop

htop shows:

15 firefox tasks --> I have one instance running with two tabs??
2 lxterminal --> I have only one opened running htop
65 console-kit-daemon --nodaemon --> this one ???

It is that info normal ?

thanks

You're confusing threads with processes. Yes, this is all normal.

Re: how many process for each application?

You can configure htop to hide threads; this should result in just the list of processes.

"65 console-kit-daemon" - https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 82#p561382

It is a bunch of threads from one process.  Console-kit spawns one thread to listen for every possible console (usually 63 of them by default).
