Hi lads,
I've updated my Xorg and can't manage to make nouveau running. Though vesa drivers work just fine, I still need something with more juice. Note that I have followed official Nouveau installation guide from wiki pages.
I'm using kernel v.2.6.38 and libdrm-newest v.2.4.24
Here's my xorg log: http://pastebin.com/6PKetHpd
Suggestions are welcome!

Hi @Stemp,
I installed libdrm from extra, but I still can't configure nouveau properly. Which graphic adapter are you using? I have nVidia GeForce2 MMX 440. Could you please post your xorg.conf?

you are disabling KMS. don't do it
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

@mandalic No xorg.conf file here
Just /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-keymap.conf for the French keyboard :
Section "InputClass"
Identifier "Keyboard defaults"
MatchIsKeyboard "yes"
Option "XkbRules" "xorg"
Option "XkbModel" "pc105"
Option "XkbLayout" "fr"
Option "XkbVariant" "oss"
#Option "XkbOptions" "compose:rctrl" (placer toutes les options séparées par une virgule)
EndSection
And a basic /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-gpudriver.conf :
Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "nouveau"
EndSection

OK, so what do you recommend? Apparently, I'm doing this the wrong way. @wonder, how do you mean I'm disabling KMS?

@mandalic : I suggest you reinstall a clean version of xorg. From the Xorg's wiki page :
Xorg can be configured via /etc/xorg.conf and/or configuration files located in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. Arch supplies default configuration files in /etc/xorg.conf.d, and no extra configuration is necessary for most setups.

[ 6189.196] Kernel command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz26 root=/dev/disk/by-uuid/1a553385-e55d-42e8-84d5-fa13af3418fb ro quiet nomodeset console=tty1 splash=silent,theme:arch-black
see that nomodeset, drop it

Drop it by editing /boot/grub/menu.lst.

Thanks chaps, that did it!
I removed nomodeset from menu.lst and xorg.conf, and it works like a charm. After all, this appeared to be an RTFM issue... =/
