byond and DreamDaemon

I was impressed by byond on Windows on my friends computer and decided to get it for my Arch laptop. Although it's different. A lot of games on the site say windows only on them and I can't find a guide as to how to get onto playing games with this, only how to install. Nothing's appeared in games either so I'm assuming its a command line deal?

Cheers,
Ben.

Re: byond and DreamDaemon

Byond is made of 3 parts mostly, DreamDaemon, DreamSeeker & DreamMarker.

The DreamSeeker for linux was deprecated quite some time ago (sadly, but it wasn't that good in the first place anyway).
The DreamMarker for Linux is just for compling (For all that I know, I have never tried it really).
The DreamDaemon is server for running byond games.

In other words, you can host games under Linux, but you can't really play them without a Windows [Virtual] Machine (Wine isn't that good last I checked).

For hosting a game under Linux:
A) Grab the hosting files from either Windows or using DreamDownload
B)

DreamDaemon <world.dmb> [port] [options]

P.S.
I asked on IRC whenever it is a good idea to reply to such an old thread before posting this.
