I've done a pacman -Syu recently and merged the .pacnew files. Still, xorg won't start (had everything working with slim and xfce, btw, it's a EeePC 701), not with slim from rc.conf's daemons neither with a regular startx from commandline; if i do try this is in the log:
...
(==) Using config directory: "/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d"
(EE) Failed to load module "fbdev" (module does not exist, 0)
sh: /usr/bin/xkbcomp: No such file or directory
(EE) Error compiling keymap (server-0)
(EE) XKB: Couldn't compile keymap
(EE) XKB: Failed to load keymap. Loading default keymap instead.
sh: /usr/bin/xkbcomp: No such file or directory
(EE) Error compiling keymap (server-0)
(EE) XKB: Couldn't compile keymap
XKB: Failed to compile keymap
Keyboard initialization failed. This could be a missing or incorrect setup of xkeyboard-config.
Fatal server error:
Failed to activate core devices.
...
Could anybody tell me what would be this change? The intel video driver is still installed, why wouldn't Xorg try that? btw nowhere in the xorg.conf.d directory is there a mentioning of fbdev. Also, i know that server-0 is not a normal keymap. I tried to change DAEMON_LOCALE to yes but that doesn't make any difference. Dvorak is my keymap of choice usually, but if i have to setxkbmap every boot i'd still prefer that over plain command line.
Any help will be appreciated

It seems that just the xkbcomp error is relevant, since the xorg logs show that intel driver is loaded at some point in time when it figures fbdev is unavailable.
