Sorry this is my first time posting here and I'm complete n00b in Linux systems. I was try to make the wireless driver RT3090, but I'm stuck on errors, which says could not make 'modules'.
Anyhow, I searched the forum and notice a lot of people here uses RT2860sta drivers that comes along with Arch and it somehow worked. So my question is: should I just do away from making the driver that was downloaded from RaLink's website or just work on the RT2860 module supplied with Arch iso?

I use rt2800pci. It seems that this driver allows my card to work faster than with rt2860sta which I've used before (something about 8MB/s instead of 3MB/s). It's still not as fast as I would expect of 802.11n, but I think it's due to interference since there are 14 access points nearby. I've never tried to use the official driver from Ralink and I think it's outdated and won't compile against newest kernels.

@OP, you'd be better off looking at the networking or wireless pages of the wiki and that should help you figure out which driver you need. If you can do that much you probably can safely use pacman to get the driver you need installed. Now, if you get stuck, post back with logs and info about what you did and why you did it. Posting the output of "lspci" and "lsusb" will also help a great deal.
Welcome to Arch.
