Safe Arch for hardware

I want to extend the life of my HDD and just hardware.
Any suggestions or links, please?

Current /etc/fstab (added noatime option and all temporary/frequently-used files mounted to tmpfs)

# <file system>        <dir>         <type>    <options>          <dump> <pass>
devpts                 /dev/pts      devpts    defaults            0      0
shm                    /dev/shm      tmpfs     nodev,nosuid        0      0

UUID=7205f0cf-85a1-434d-b5eb-cb382655c19e / ext3 defaults,noatime 0 1
UUID=88fb5f4e-60d4-4726-b99a-e3f75c31151d /home ext3 defaults,noatime 0 1
UUID=bc6f6992-0f00-4c7d-9efe-54ea2843b03a swap swap defaults,noauto 0 0
UUID=febc6e77-b730-42bc-b2cc-f0bfc93d77b4 /boot ext2 defaults,noatime 0 1

tmpfs /tmp tmpfs defaults,nodev,nosuid,noexec,mode=1777 0 0
tmpfs /var/lock tmpfs defaults,nodev,nosuid,noexec,mode=1777,size=8m 0 0
tmpfs /var/run tmpfs defaults,nodev,nosuid,noexec,mode=0755,size=8m 0 0
tmpfs /var/log tmpfs defaults,nodev,nosuid,noexec,mode=0755,size=64m 0 0
tmpfs /var/lib/pacman/sync tmpfs defaults,nodev,nosuid,noexec,mode=0755,size=8m 0 0

Also, $ export HISTFILE="/dev/null" (for disable bash history)

It's not at all clear what you're asking for; your mount options aren't going to have an effect on the"life of your HDD and just hardware."  If you mean you want to get more use out of them, then it's totally a subjective matter how you partition your drive and utilize your memory.

Re: Safe Arch for hardware

Anoknusa is correct, you are not going to accomplish anything with the mount table.

Unless:  Are you talking about a solid state disk and write cycle limits ? If so, yes -- turn off atime, and think about setting up a ram disk for your logs and tmp files.  For spinning drives, forget it.

As to extending your hardware life.  First and foremost, keep it cool.  Second, keep it cool.
Next, avoid shock and vibration.  Also, although it is not "Green", avoid power cycles, they cause a fair amount of thermal stress.
