Has anyone had any success with dual monitors (not mirroring) using the HDMI port of the X120e. With lxrandr, I could get mirrored output, and with aramdr, it did not work at all. Anyone have any idea on how to go about having the HDMI monitor act as and extension of the laptop monitor?

Have you tried the regular xrandr?

How would I go about doing that? I know that xrandr -q lists my displays, but I did not know it could do much more.

Well, there's the man page :-)

That there is! I will try and make sense of it and post if I have any questions.

Okay, one question. I get how to set up a second monitor, but how would I define a second display to be bound to a virtual desktop? Or if that's not possible, how can I extend the laptop screen using the second monitor?

use one of the following arguments to the --output command:
--left-of <output>
--right-of <output>
--above <output>
--below <output>
--pos <x>x<y>
This will place the output where you want it in relation to the other output

Not sure, but I think you need xinerama support for that.
For nvidia see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xo … ual_screen , no idea how AMD does it.

I am assuming that the x120e has intel gfx as my x220 does
I do not have to change my xorg config for dual screen but I do have xinerama installed
