Wi-Fi card as Wireless AP for expanding connectivity

I don't really know how to start to implement this: What I want to do is more or less as follows:

At my job, we have only one Wi-Fi AP, but this AP does not have enough power to be reached when you are in the opposite corner of the warehouse.
My question is: Can i use a computer running Arch with a wireless card for this purpose?
The idea would be: The computer would be connected to the internal network via ethernet, and serving as AP with its Wireless Card, with the same bssid and same channel as the wireless router, so the peers woudn't have to bother when they change from one AP to the other? (Virtually they would be the same AP)....
Is this possible? and... where to start looking for a solution?

Thanks!

Of course it's possible. In fact it's so much possible and so easy to do, I'm surprised you haven't found the necessary info already. Hint: look into hostapd.
