Yes, and it works... Tried removing it too but it still complains during the boot.

Could the error be because I have "keymap" in the HOOKS in the mkinitcpio.conf ?

Any Idea how to stop hwdetect running IP-Config....

this fail on everyboot spoiling my usplash sceen, I have a net connection as the modules are loaded via rc.conf.

I would like to stop this happening...

Oh yeah, I noticed an ipconfig error popping up for me too...

Every user must be take most backup of the configuration when u uninstall it .else might break u system!...

also pngtousplash gives this error...

pngtousplash: error while loading shared libraries: libgd.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

erm green is a colour...... thats obvious too

Nothing is broken, just when ipconfig is called it errors and stops the splashscreen

when I unistalled it return back to fbsplash,It removed more files in /etc like rc.* and can't boot up.

finally I used knoppix fix it.:(

Uhhh, that link to download the Arch theme appears to be broken, and it seems like the whole spookykid.net domain is no longer pointing to your website. Is there somewhere else I can download it? I would really like to see it.

The links isn't valid now, Where do I download them? I don't want to stay with ubuntu splash.

Another problem is that the splash appear for short time and disapear and all the messages shown as before.

What with the second problem?

The boot splash appear a little then disappear and the normal messages apeear as without usplash.

Will it be sometime in the formal arch repositories?

I have strange problem: I can see the bootsplash, a little dark and blurred, but anyway, after that I get a terminal login screen, and by then I can hear the sound of the login to gnome (I set auto login on GDM to my user). it happens in the quiet mode and without the quiet mode. i also set "vga=791" and follow all the instructions.
by the way, I am using 17" screen, SiS 700 adapter, if its important.
