Re: openoffice 2.2 upgrade?

OpenOffice 2.2 will not open any of my database forms created using 2.04 getting the following errors

Error code: 1   org/hsqldb/jdbcDriver
Error code: 1000  The specified driver could not be loaded
The connection to the datasource "CD-Collection" could not be established

Don't know whether I need to change anything as it is a standard install.

Re: openoffice 2.2 upgrade?

I have a similar problem.  I'm trying to create a new database, it creates it but gives similar errors when I try to do anything.

Error code: -1

org/hsqldb/jdbcDriver

and

Error code: 1000

The specified driver could not be loaded!

No problems here, but generally all I use is writer.  The fonts look a hell of a lot better IMO.

@berbae: I do get the same "collection of errors" as you do if I run the program from the terminal.
If I start from the GUI I do not see any errors, but most importantly, the program works fine regardless of how I start it. ;)

The problem that you guys reported is related to KDE look&feel support in OOo. OOo by default tries to find out which Desktop Environment is it run under and applies the setting itself without the need to set OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP manually. However it seems that the KDE support is broken ATM, hence the errors for KDE users. And it also explains why does OOO_FORCE_DESKTOP=gnome work fine, i.e. doesn't cause any errors at all and applies the gnome look&feel correctly.

BTW. I filed a bug report for this: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/6993
