B,
You have to build first PKGBUILD and install it: pacman -U amarok*
then you have to build second PKGBUILD and install it the same wayWhat's not working for you?
Dude... I know that .
The problem was libtunepimp, apparently, while amarok - strangely enough - gave me the error... From the minute I rebuilt libtunepimp, everything worked just fine .
Well, I guess that's what you get when you go around replacing official packages with your own .

Amarok is i think important package and it should be fast in extra.

Thats right, how could the maintainer miss this release?! He should have been contacted through the "flag package out-of-date" functionality.
Maybe someone else could takeover and maintain this package?

I think he has been notified . Some people are quite busy, and although I do agree upgrading should be fast (particularly when it comes to security flaws).

If you are able to run Arch, you should be able to build a package, no? . Updated buildscripts were posted above, just run them and install the resulting packages.

Hmm... Maybe none of the packages should be updated.... We could just build them all ourselves.... Oh wait, that's why I went from Gentoo to Arch.
Seriously though....... 2 weeks?!?!?!

Yep me too I ran from Gentoo (after 5 years) to Arch because I didn't want to build every package - I just build package when I want. OK I can wait but not 2 weeks...

Heh, well that's a good occasion for building it this time then...
You don't do this for every package, only for the ones you really care about, and where you can't wait long enough for the latest & greatest version to be packaged.
I hope that's not the case for every packages, otherwise you're just mad

It doesn't bother me if new version of program came out and it is not immediately ready for download but what bother me is if the new version is out because older has security problems which was case with Tor.
I like Arch but I was and I am not sure about how secure it is... I am almost two years an Arch user but I am looking to Debian or Slackware to o back.

amarok's maintainer is very busy. I'm currently in the process of updating some of his packages. amarok is on my list and will be updated tonight or in the next few days..
