hah, had this happen to me what with the recent nvidia update coming down the pipe. deleting /usr/lib/tls and sticking with the arch build did it for me.

sorry for casting raise dead on this thread, but there might be others who would benefit from reading it!

Yes, I benefited from reading this, had the same problem. Thanks for pointing out the fix!

Removing the TLS directory fixed my recent issues with the 173 nvidia driver! Thanks!

I'm sure glad I find this stuff out at work so I'm not surprised when I go home to update.  should I remove the TLS dir before or after installing the new version?
