Re: April 2008 Screenshots

So I have a bit of an issue with immediately changing my computer's look the second I post it up here, and it's happened again.

Clear:

clear165.png.xs.jpg

w/Things:

stuff775.png.xs.jpg

Components

GTK2: Neutronium Gilouche
Xfwm4: Neutronium-Xfwm4
Icons: XubuntuStudio + Tango backups
Wallpaper: From 4chan's /wg/ board. Get it here.

I'll actually be sticking with this one. It suits the studio work I'm doing right now, and also matches the look of the new computer: black with a few blue LEDs.

@Honken, any chance I could get a link to your wallpaper? Love the colours in it.

vim? EMACS? Pssh, I code in Scribus.

so I set it up for a kind of "pseudo-tiling", compiz thinks I have 6 screens (I only have two, I edited the others in in ccsm), so when I maximise a window it goes into one of my predefined tiles, it's exactly the behaviour I wished for before I figured out it could be done like this tongue

Any suggestions for things I can tweak further ? I loves me some config file tweaking tongue

Man, this looks great ! I've been discussing about tiled compiz on IRC, can you explain how you did that ?

Thanks !

Re: April 2008 Screenshots

Sure, I just added all the "tiles" I wanted into ccsm as outputs, in General Options => Display Settings (turn off "Detect Outputs"), it's not perfect, but I think it works nicely.
My outputs list looks like this:
1680x1050+0+0
450x515+1680+0
390x515+2130+0
840x515+2520+0
840x535+1680+515

Switched from KDEmod to Openbox this month. I expected to lose a lot of functionality, but I didn't. My desktop feels really unique now. It probably isn't, but with all the keybindings and stuff, no one else can use it anymore tongue

First screenshot is bare, with just conky on top, a patched pypanel at the bottom, and yes, tomboy too. I just love notes too much.
Second one shows off the weather pipemenu I stole here, and includes screenshot details.
Third screenie is busy, showing Thunar, Mirage, Sonata of course, and Transmission.

Well I always like it when people get inspired by my setups but I'd rather have them correcting the info instead of just copying it verbatim wink. A T7300 doesn't run at 2.33 Ghz wink. Mine does 2 Ghz smile. You might wanna fix that tongue.
