Actually, it was pointed out via a report that this thread is actually deprecated and that the link Jason provided is now the canonical reference.
hiroshiyui's post just happened to resurrect a dormant thread. 

@hiroshiyui, your point is well taken.  I know there are counterpoints that are just as valid.  I have my opinion which shall remain private.

I think we should apply a neutral description with regards to all territorial disputes -- they do not belong here.  Unfortunately, the moderators have no direct control over the target link.

In the page http://www.archlinux.org/mirrors/status/ for Chile I see
an http and a ftp for archlinux.cl
but in the pacman-mirrorlist I se only the ftp, follow of http/ftp://mirror.netglobalis.net/archlinux/ this repo netglobalis is a little unstable for example in january-march not reseive a update, and according the mirror status isnot an official

why is here??
