Is the wireless device not supposed to be 'wlan0' these days (and not 'eth1')?
I know mine is ....

Well, it depends on the driver. Mine is eth1 using ipw2200 drivers. Maybe could also depend on udev.

@draze: try to delete all references to eth1 in /etc/rc.conf, then try to load the net profile you just configured. Could be a problem with netcfg, though.
