Re: [SOLVED]not found in sync db

Have you done a "pacman -Sy" to update your pacman database.  In fact, a complete update would be good (pacman -Syu).

Re: [SOLVED]not found in sync db

I am relatively new to linux I do have ubuntu but I haven't really gotten into using it.  I went through the installation through the grub loader.  I also tried to begin to install a gui for arch but nothing seems to be working pacman turns to me and says not found in sync db.  I don't even know what that means.  I'm assuming i'm missing the files to do that.  I have all the files from the packages that can be found while doing /arch/setup.  The beginners guide and installation guide on the arch system are failing to let me read them and I did change the chmod setting temporarily to let me through and exec but it still won't.

Do you have any internet access?  Try to ping google.

BTW, there is an edit button for a reason...

I'm totally lost here. From where and to where are you installing Arch?

The beginners guide and other wiki pages should help you get you network set up.  Ask if you need any further direction.
