[SOLVED] wich kbmodel for my laptop (dell xps 1530)

ok i've run xorgconfig and got my graphics card running under X.
but as soon as i run startx my keyboard stops working (no ingle key works at all)...
this is pretty bad cause can't adjust my corg.conf since i can't leave xorg...
(my keyboard has got 87 keys)
kbmodels i've tried so far are "pc105", "inspiron" and "latitude" ...
any help would be appreciated!!!

Maybe you are not running the hal daemon, try to insert in your /etc/rc.conf file, in the DAEMONS=() array "hal"
