Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

Haggy, can you please report when the svn version correct the "lag jpeg bug" for ION config + libjpeg7 ?

I m working with the libjpeg6 compiled 23551 (http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=48724), try the 24657 and it's always here :-(.
So back to 551 .... (But with database seem corrupt, 0 item in movies and TV Show, next time I'll make backup).

Thanks for your great work and support.

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

Haggy, I was wrong, I don't actually notice any lagging, but just being in the home menu has my CPU's both between 50-70%.
When showing thumbs this increases to about 90%.

Is it as simple as installing libjpeg6 and symlinking it or do I have to recompile after that?

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

Hey haggy,

tried the new xbmc-svn release and it works great. Thank you very much! smile
I have one simple question:
Is there a way to make the fonts bigger without changing resolution or scaling the skin?

Vlad

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

I tried xbmc-svn, but I can't play any video, with VDPAU sad They just don't start. The same with 190.42, and 195.22. GTS250 here.

With mplayer/smplayer, VDPAU acceleration is OK though.

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

When I try to compile XBMC-svn 24924-1 I get this error

...
checking for FLAC/stream_decoder.h... yes
checking for main in -lsmbclient... no
configure: error: Could not find a required library. Please see the README for your platform.

even if smbclient from extra is installed. Reinstall smbclient do not help. Any suggestion?

Change the packagebuild to a SVN rev that's higher than 24978 (or just head). It's supposed to work again atm I read in IRC (don't have an nVidia card, so can't check myself).
And see here as well: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=20156

/usr/include/libsmbclient.h exists?

@Haggy, how about the HAL dependancy now devicekit is replacing (has replaced in the ubuntu-based XBMC livecd) HAL?
I asked in IRC and devicekit should work, will try it this week and see how it goes...

There was an issue with some package removing or overwriting /usr/include/GL/glew.h a short time ago, that probably caused the issue.

Anyway, enjoy XBMC wink

Yes - either by hacking the skin's xml file or directly by using a different font in the settings menu (though i'm not sure if that option is still there as a lot of settings got removed recently for simplicity's sake). Have a look here f.e.: http://xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?t=60013 or http://blog.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.php?p=214562

Yes that's a known issue - browse some pages back in here to see the solution. You have to edit the Makefile for the Texturepacker to use sse1 instead of sse2.

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

Well, downgrading to libjpeg6 (had to downgrade too many packages though, a fix would be more than welcome wink) made the image-loading work the way it should again, but I'm still having a lot of issues with high CPU-usage.

Already tried this patch http://xbmc.org/trac/attachment/ticket/ … npot.patch as suggested here http://blog.xbmc.org/forum/showthread.p … 031&page=6.
Seems to have helped for a short while, but now X is taking up 90% CPU whilst just being in the home screen/idling sad

Anybody experiencing the same?

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

Dumb question: Tried fiddling with the vsync settings? I get the same high load in the GUI when vsync is off...

Well, dumb actions ask for dumb questions wink
I compiled the latest SVN (with and without the non-powers of 2 patch) and I fully removed xbmc-svn and my .xbmc folder, so v-sync was at it's default (which is "let the driver decide", don't know if that means it's on or off in the GUI), so I put it on always on, but no change sad

Do you happen to know what the "let the driver decide" option does exactly?

CPU usage as shown in system info is always 100% spread over 2 cores (so 40/60, 30/70, etc.), never lower.
top still shows X as consuming 90% of my cpu-time.

Maybe it's an ATI/radeon/Xorg issue (I'm running mostly git packages because they are needed for my HD2600 3D)?

"Let driver decide" does not do anything - neither switch it on or off. It leaves vsync-settings to what the driver/control panel has set it to. I'm on nvidia and have it set to on in the control panel. Did you try to switch to windowed mode (\)?

I tried xbmc-svn, but I can't play any video, with VDPAU sad They just don't start. The same with 190.42, and 195.22. GTS250 here.

With mplayer/smplayer, VDPAU acceleration is OK though.

Change the packagebuild to a SVN rev that's higher than 24978 (or just head). It's supposed to work again atm I read in IRC (don't have an nVidia card, so can't check myself).
And see here as well: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=20156

hmm:/

Still nothing. I even tried the gitorious version of xbmc (I guess it's the same as svn), but nothing. It finds the vdpau libs, but no videos can be played. I press the icons in XBMC, the video playback won't start.

flamelab: Please post a full debug logfile onto pastebin.com while reproducing the issue to show us the problem.

Re: xbmc-git AUR package: discussion in here please

I tried xbmc-svn today and I have two problems:

- It doesn't see my dvds. I cannot play dvds in xbmc-svn.

- I only see one color per frame in the videos in xbmc-svn.

How can I get rid of this?

I have a Ati HD 4650.

Videos and DVDs work normal "outside" of xbmc-svn.

Not seeing the DVD's is probably because of the libcdio issue, did you try downgrading it and recompiling?

Which driver are you using for your graphicscard?
And which renderer?

My HD4670 and HD2600 are working fine with the xorg radeon driver (from git)

@haggy: if I understood correctly, you're a xbmc developer, is it correct? So, just FYI, commit 7e9655d6f21dcfaf847f25f7668963d92e9575d7 [ http://xbmc.git.sourceforge.net/git/git … d92e9575d7 ] breaks compilation of xbmc (9.11_Camelot git branch). build brutally fails with (no error whatsoever):

(x86_64 machine using up2date [TESTING] repo, well except libcdio...)

edit: correctly takes 2 'r'
