Working like a charm here.

Nepomuk can't start here, too.
I think my only choice is the KDEMod fallback.
(See what I mean in my latest blog post down there.)

Worked until falling back to virtuoso 5, it made plasma braking regulary though with v6... I'm not in a need for stable system right now so I like following 4.4 progress It's quite usable so far...
Oh and when I enable strigi from desktop search configuration dialog it reports after a minut that same error message. The only difference between 4.3 and 4.4 and nepomuk/strigi right now is that the message I'm getting about not being able to start nepomuk is taking much longer, on 4.3 it pop's up right after akonadi started and now it pops up a minut afterwards

Hurray, strigi works here

OMG why ????????
I mean how ?

I've disabled then enabled nepomuk and strigi worked Cool...
/edit: It looks like I have to restart nepomuk service every time the machine is restarted in order for nepomuk and strigi to work

As the console display shows, if you change from virtuoso 6 to 5, there will be a problem which cause nepomuk down, so you need remove your kdedir/share/apps/nepomuk to make it work.
Offline
Well I did as you suggested but I get the same error report as above. When I tried to start nepomuk daemon from console it reported that nepomuk is already started? Ok, let's start strigi daemon, and it starts to index but at the end I get loads of messages like these and a segfault:
'' is not a UTF8 or latin1 string
'' is not a UTF8 or latin1 string
Error in parsing: Keyword obj not found.
Error in parsing: Keyword obj not found.
encoding error : input conversion failed due to input error, bytes 0xDB 0xDA 0xD9 0xD8
Error: unexpected end of stream
Error in parsing: Keyword obj not found.
Segmentation fault (at the end of it all)
Nevermind, I was just curious how it works for some and not for others...

Has anyone else issues with polkit ?

What issues exactly?
PS. I've managed to start nepomuk and strigi and it works, for the first time ever

Shaman has always been completely buggy, unpredictable and unreliable.
This proves nothing.

No, it is a general issue. It can been seen on K3b setup in System Settings

I'm using KDE 4.4 RC1 so far without problem, but now after an update
[bxs@arch03 ~]$ pacman -Q qt
qt 4.6.0-4
I can't run any Qt aplication, i think becouse the lack of a specific libpng library version:
[bxs@arch03 ~]$ /home/bxs/BxS_DVB_Signal/BxS_DVB_Signal
/home/bxs/BxS_DVB_Signal/BxS_DVB_Signal: error while loading shared libraries: libpng14.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I have this error for all Qt aplications.
Well, at least have an excuse to be using XFCE again ;-)

@flamelab
Affirmative
@BxS
I hope you are joking, after all this is kde-unstable

I confirm that, it is compiled against a lib that isn't in testing or extra.

I don't see qt 4.6.0-4 in any of my repos, but feel free to use attached PKGBUILD which installs the latest version of libpng. It installs separately as "libpng14" so it shouldn't interfere with any existing libpng in your system. I didn't have a chance to test it really, but the library you're missing seems to be there.

Subject: [arch-dev-public] kde-unstable on top of jpng
To: Public mailing list for Arch Linux development <arch-dev-public@archlinux.org>I am starting to rebuild kde-unstable against new lib{jpeg, png}. This will
be completed with the release of KDE 4.4 RC2 within the next two days.
Nobody should use kde-unstable until it's announced and open for testing.

To: Public mailing list for Arch Linux development <arch-dev-public@archlinux.org>hi,
just a heads up to inform that i don't recommend to update from testing anymore. Most of important packages have been rebuild but the remaining list still counts ~99 packages.--

Downgrade Qt, that's the "problem". Do NOT update again from [kde-unstable] until Pierre says so.

I think it's safe now to upgrade, so I'll try and report here soon, loads of kde related stuff entered testing (libpng also).
