database is up to date

Hi,
  pacman -Syu yields this:

:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
local database is up to date

Nothing wrong with that, but it has been that way for over a week. Usually I can't go more than a day without pacman having an update for me. I find it hard to believe that none of my packages have been updated in over a week. What is going on here? Is something wrong with pacman?

Re: database is up to date

Try running pacman -Syy to refresh the packages list, then try upgrading again.  If you get the same message, try some different mirrors.

You can use "pacman -Syy" to force a refresh. You can also check if your mirror is out of sync here.

Check when the mirrors you are using were last synced.  If it was a week or more that would explain it.

Re: database is up to date

I found out today that my preferred mirror had not synched for the last 2 days, which was the reason why I didn't receive any updates. After changing mirrors and pacman -Syyu I got the latest software.

Re: database is up to date

Thanks everyone. I ran pacman -Syy and I am still getting a message that my database is up to date. I also added some new mirrors, and still everything is up to date. I guess it is just an unusually slow week with my installed packages.

Thanks for all the fast answers.

Re: database is up to date

Pacman takes the first mirror, so unless you put the new mirrors before the old ones, nothing will change.

I commented out my original mirror.

Re: database is up to date

Seems to be an issue with Pacman picking mirrors up using the include command in the config file. Workaround is to add the servers you use to the preferred server line in your /etc/pacman.conf file.

E.G:

Server=<Insert server here>

That mirror list was an amazing help. I didn't realize that existed. I've been having pacman troubles for the last two weeks and sure enough the mirror I'm using is out of sync for over 17 days! Thanks Xyne!
