Knetworkmanager crashing

Hi!

I have a little problem with knetworkmanager lately. After my computer crashed 2 days ago knetworkmanager is no longer usable. As soon as I start it it'll crash and backtracing shows the following:

Re: Knetworkmanager crashing

Have you tried completely removing (with pacman -Rns) knetworkmanager, deleting it from the cache and then reinstalling it?

Re: Knetworkmanager crashing

Hi!
Sorry for the late reply, I didn't get an information notice that there was a reply on this topic.
Anyway, yes, I tried to reinstall the package exactly as you described several times. I also manually deleted every config file remaining after uninstalling the package. But every time I'm starting it again after the reinstall it'll give me the same error.
After starting it from a console I'll get these messages:

$ knetworkmanager
QSettings::sync: filename is null/empty
process 7889: arguments to dbus_pending_call_unref() were incorrect, assertion "pending != NULL" failed in file dbus-pending-call.c line 563.
This is normally a bug in some application using the D-Bus library.

KCrash: Application 'knetworkmanager' crashing...
ERROR: Communication problem with knetworkmanager, it probably crashed.

I also tried recompiling knetworkmanager and networkmanager. Well, It didn't help much, besides the fact that networkmanager wouldn't even compile. Knetworkmanager however was recompiled but it also didn't work... sad

Any suggestions?

Re: Knetworkmanager crashing

Since this happened after a crash probably something has become corrupted. Why don't you try the same (complete removal  + reinstall) with dbus and qt? To me this looks similar to a dbus error that had been around about half a year ago (which has been fixed, but since I think it might be dbus).

I do not really have a clue, though. Good luck.

Re: Knetworkmanager crashing

It seems like it is a 64bit problem since it happened only on my Arch64 system. Also when installing the current knetworkmanager-svn package it starts to work again. So I guess after the next release of knetworkmanager it'll work again. Till then I will I will stay with the svn package....

Thanks!

Re: Knetworkmanager crashing

I can confirm this; it seems to be a problem which only occurs on arch64. It seems to be fixed in the svn-version; but i don`t know if backporting is possible.
