Re: read only filesystem?

Read-only is normal for the boot sequence...other notes are not to be interpreted as fail notices..only kernel panic!!!

Re: read only filesystem?

Notice the "ro" option that you've probably got in your kernel line in menu.lst, that's why your filesystem gets loaded read-only;) And that's the recommended way, it will be set to rw (as defined in fstab) later on in the boot process.

Re: read only filesystem?

Oh ok ty. So I don't need to worry about the cannot find default font only kernel panic? also my time is screwed. I tried to fix it via right clicking applet but everytime I try to fix it it reverts back to old timezone on next reboot. So for example atm its 6:21 PM in NY and it will show 22:22 .. It's wrong because even in 24 hour format it has the wrong timezone ( even if i set the time zone correctly it will still be a few hours behind .. w/ or w/o day light savings ).

Re: read only filesystem?

Set your hardware clock to localtime instead of  UTC in rc.conf.
