Firefox Naming Stuff and Arch Praise

First off, I would like to thank the Arch team and community. This is a great distro, no argument from me.
I cite as evidence that last night I formatted my hard drive after discovering some partitions that I didn't know existed. Started reinstalling at about 7 PM, and at about 9 PM, I had a running system, kde, my nvidia video drivers, mt-daapd, samba, and AMP.
This is just the right mix of up to date and bleeding edge for me. Everything is the latest stable version.
It's great, the whole thing just works, and the wiki helps you set it up as well.

Anyway, before I formatted and reinstalled, I evacuated my files with Knoppix (sorry to mention it here, but it does work for that sort of thing).
Is there some sort of legal thing going on with Firefox naming?
Knoppix had Firefox and Thunderbird, but they were called Iceweasel and icedove. What's the problem behind that?

Also, what fool decided to call the firefox beta test bon echo? What the heck is that for a name?

That "fool" would be a Mozilla employee.

Yes, but bon echo?
Is there some sort of background there?

Basically: what kind of name is bon echo?

It's apparently a park in Ontario. Firefox 1.5 was Deer Park, so the theme seems to be names of parks.

Firefox3 is called Minefield. I build it from cvs every 12 hours and it is a major improvement over firefox2. The rendering engine is a lot better and it passes the Acid2 test.
