Installing specific commands

Hi,

Trying to install ntpdate, telnet and finger, I notice that Arch packages which contain these commands require also to install the server part (ntpd, telnetd and fingerd). Is there a way to install only the client part? I understand that I can simply not start the daemons, but I'd rather keep the system free of unused binaries and config files.

On a more general topic, is there a way to look for a specific file in the repositories? (not package names or descriptions, but filenames)

TIA.

Re: Installing specific commands

As far as pkg containing server+client: it's generally Arch policy not to make two packages from one src file.  So if the src contains code for client and server binaries then the pkg will.

Hope that's clear.

Re: Installing specific commands

Clear it is, thanks for the answer. I just took the binaries from another Linux machine. Not very elegant but it works just fine. I don't want xinetd installed just to use finger.
