I assume that's what the problem is:
eyolf[~]% soffice
/opt/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.36: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
eyolf[~]% locate libicuuc
/usr/lib/libicuuc.so
/opt/wengophone2/libicuuc.so.36
eyolf[~]% pacman -Qo /usr/lib/libicuuc.so
/usr/lib/libicuuc.so is owned by icu 3.8-1

I too had this problem, but then I installed icu 3.6-1 form extra and that solved my problem, after that u just have to add icu to the IgnorePkg line in pacman.conf so it won't appear everytime u do a pacman -Suy.

Good! I solved it by reverting to the extra version of icu too, but it's good to see that the testing process works :-)

How have you found out it was ICU?

I guess that answers the questions? And his first post combined.

Same here. I'm now updating to 2.3-3 .
[kknd@arch program]$ ./soffice
/opt/openoffice/program/soffice.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libicuuc.so.36: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
[kknd@arch program]$ ./soffice.bin

funny to see how you mix packages from extra and testing. that will never work, just stick with extra or upgrade to testing. then testing has to be on top of all repos in pacman.conf.
