I wrote wiki article on ALSA - see that for lots of tips.

The card seems to be detected as 02:06.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB0400 Audigy2 Value
I followed your tutorial, and the other ALSA one, might it be that i have broken udev autodetec when I ran, alsaconfig ?

Well it looks like the emu 0404 PCI is having some problems with the drivers.
This is the first revision that it was added. There are people with this same error.
There is a patch maybe you can use it with ABS.
here is the link to the patch.
https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa- … hp?id=3496
Maybe someone can take it from here.
I am not sure how to go about it. Good luck.

Thx chown, I have no idea how to work with those patches, so help would really be appriciated

Let me see if I can stumble though.
Don't think I am going to be anymore help.
I am still learning the ABS stuff.
Sorry about that.

Any news on this one?
Newest snapshop fails with 'emu1010: Loading Hana Firmware file failed, reg=0x7f'.
I have no idea why it fails, the right fw-file was found and it is supposed to be correct too.
Any tips?

Woho ! I finally got sound working compiling the latest snapshot from the hg repostory, so now it works! Only one slight problem sound is being played too fast! or at a to hig pitch, ideas?
edit: changing samplerate in alsamixer to 44100hz fixed it

Hey Goophy,
did you manage to get it working? i'm getting the same error message that you were using Alsa version 1.0.16.

No, but a newer identical card worked fine, so I guess there are at least two versions with small differences.
I just sold it and bought a 0404 USB.

Is this the USB card or the PCI one?
I have the USB card and always wanted it to work in linux.
I can get sound through mine in Arch, but it sounds terrible
Fustrated Windows users have two options.
1. Resort to the throwing of computers out of windows.
2. Resort to the throwing of windows out of computers.

The sound is probably bad because of the samplerate which is 48kHz by default on the E-mu.
Just upsample everything and you should be fine.
