I have compiz-fusion installed from community. It shows very poor performance while resizing gnome-terminal window (and xfce-terminal too). Otherwise, wobbling and stuff works fine. Can anyone confirm?

Yes. This has been driving me freaking crazy for a VERY long time, never found a way to resolve it except for using konsole instead. Pretty annoying problem. I believe this to be an Arch issue as I've not experienced it on other distros.

I have the same problem, but with konsole.. havent tried any other terminal. It worked fine 1-2 months ago, but after an update I got this problem.
The ultimate Archlinux release name: "I am your father"

....
Is this a PROGRAM problem or a PACKAGE problem?
If this is a program ( compiz-fusion ) issue, we can't do anything. If this is a packaging issue, please tests and add some solution.

We can kick devs' asses at least

I don't know.. I use the same compiling options than other distros.
And what is 'poor performance' ? I think it isn't problem of the package but configuration or program problem. Have you see if other distros where you don't see the problem applies some patches?
Thanks

Try you if you think that we're unskilled. You can find PKGBUILD here: http://cvs.archlinux.org/cgi-bin/viewcv … ag=CURRENT

You misunderstood. I mean "compiz devs". sorry.

I'll try to explain. I've configured resize behavior to "normal". That means that i hold and drag window border and window resizes gradually.
But when i drag terminal border it does not resizes. When i stop moving mouse terminal resizes instantly after a couple of seconds.
(Sorry for poor english)
About "other distros": that wasn't my report. I don't know.

Finally solved. (Thx for fwojciec).
Fixed by running "nvidia-settings -a InitialPixmapPlacement=2" on startup, see http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=39547
Sorry for disturbance, DaNiMoTh.

Hmmm, that seems to fix that particular resize issue for me, but it leads to stretching of emerald's buttons, and also doesn't help in regards to using the gtk-decorator and having the title bars turn transparent/buggy.....
