Can't change font in Xfig

When I try to write some text in Xfig I get the error:
Can't find -*-times-medium-r-normal--13-*-*-*-*-*-ISO8859-*, using 6x13
I can't use any other font than the basic one, especially I can't use greek letters that I need.

Anybody have idea how to fix it?

Edit:
I just run Xfig and I see following error, I completely don't understand it:

Either you have a very old app-defaults file installed (Fig),
or there is none installed at all.
You should install the correct version or you may lose some features.
This may be done with "make install" in the xfig source directory.

File zad4.fig:
Can't find -*-times-medium-r-normal--13-*-*-*-*-*-ISO8859-*, using fixed

Re: Can't change font in Xfig

I am not sure about the first part of the error but for the missing fonts do you have xorg-fonts-100dpi or xorg-fonts-75dpi installed?

Re: Can't change font in Xfig

I have just installed the xorg-fonts-100dpi (had only xorg-fonts-75dpi) - no change.

Re: Can't change font in Xfig

At one point I had that issue of missing fonts I installed xorg-fonts-100dpi and 75dpi as well as xorg-fonts-type1 and xfig  was working even greek. After your last post I checked again and guess what not working. The only difference was that there was no missing font error, it just simply changed to default instead of the appropriate font. I to built xfig 3.2.5 from source with no patches or edits and there was the same issue. Finally I removed this and the arch xfig package 3.2.5 and reinstalled the arch xfig 3.2.4 package from cache and all fonts were working again. So this seems to be an xfig bug.

One other thing if you still get missing fonts after installing the fonts try to run

xset fp rehash

Re: Can't change font in Xfig

I have, xorg-fonts-type1, also tried  the 'xset fp rehash' magic command.

Ok... how to downgrade xfig? I have just installed it so I don't have previous version in cache. I installed abs, but can't find clear way to compile package in previous version. I tried editing version in PKGBUILD, but I get following errors:

Re: Can't change font in Xfig

I did manage to built 3.2.4.full.tar.gz using the xfig-gcc4.patch, but then still could not access fonts. I filed arch bug #8806 on this. It is beyond me at this point. I do have a virtualbox install of ubuntu with 3.2.5-alpha5 working with the same fonts installed. If you'd like to try though I could email you my copy of arch pkg xfig-3.2.4-3.pkg.tar.gz. I hope someone else could look into this.
