twinkle: error while loading shared libraries: libccext2-1.5.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
After receiving this message with 1.0.1-2 from Extra, I gave 1.0.1-3 from Testing a go, but I'm still seeing this message. Anyone else experiencing this problem or know how it can be resolved?

Anyone? Twinkle serves as my _only_ telephone and I've been without it almost 2 weeks now =/

Try pacman -Qi twinkle
This will show all dependencies.
Then check to see that all are installed.
Some of the depends may have depends of their own!!

I did what you suggested, and re-installed all the dependencies (although they were already all there). This did not help. Do you get this same error msg with Twinkle?

Twinkle depends on libzrtpcpp, which depends on ccrtp, which depends on commoncpp2, which provides libccext2. commoncpp2 was upgraded from 1.5.7 to 1.6.0, so twinkle needs a rebuild as well.
In other words, post a bug report.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've appended to an existing bug report. I hope it moves up in queue

I should also have said that if you need it quickly (sounds like you do ) you can rebuild it yourself using ABS (Arch Build System). Full details in the wiki.

This is the existing bug report.

Someone has managed to get it to work by building it through ABS but it means rolling back at least one other package, in my case it looks like needing more as I tried the rollback suggested but it still failed.

workaround: rebuild commoncpp2-1.5.7 (simply change the pkgver in the PKGBUILD) and afterwards rebuild twinkle[-kdefree], then it works.
I rebuilt commoncpp2 as 1.5.7 as above and Twinkle is working again (without a Twinkle rebuild).

Well.. yes, that works too. pacman will want to upgrade it again though, and there may also be other packages in the repos that have been built against the 1.6.0 package. That's why I didn't suggest that particular solution, but as long as you're happy...

tomk,
Hmm... so to do it "your" way, where pacman won't complain of an outdated 1.5.7 commoncpp2, do I have to edit the PKGBUILD of ccrtp to depend on commoncpp2 1.6.0 > 1.5.7 and rebuild that-- and then rebuild Twinkle?

Arrgh! I updated to the new twinkle-kdefree package 1.1-1 (just out today) and now I'm receiving this:
twinkle: error while loading shared libraries: libzrtpcpp-0.9.so.0: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32

I've just upgraded to twinkle-kdefree-1.1-1 and it is all working fine for me now. The new interface was a bit of a shock but thats ok.

I can confirm that this issue is now resolved since libzrtpcpp 0.9.0-3.1
