Since the perl-update today urxvt refuses to start with the following error message:
urxvt: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/perl5/core_perl/auto/List/Util/Util.so: undefined symbol: Perl_Istack_sp_ptr
Any idea how to fix this? xterm is somehow, hmmm, ugly in my eyes

Seems to be v5.10.0 - hmm maybe I got this from testing. I guess its best to go back to 5.8.8 for the moment.
perl -v
This is perl, v5.10.0 built for i686-linux-thread-multi

It is recommended that the testing repo is used only by users who are prepared for the potential consequences, one of which you have just encountered. Testing repo users are also expected to report breakage of this kind by posting on the bugtracker, rather than on the forum.
In this case, as well as being unprepared, you also seem to be uncertain if you are using testing at all, so it would be in your best interests to disable the testing repo in /etc/pacman.conf, and return to the safety of core and extra.

Sorry tomk,
wasn't aware that I was using testing on this machine during my first post - I copied some config files from my laptop where I needed testing for some packages at one point and forgot to take it out. I'll go back to "safety" as you suggest asap on this machine. After reverting perl to 5.8.8. urxvt is working again.
I had a look a the bugtracker before and didn't find this problem already in. Since I intend to keep using testing on my laptop (I'm prepared for all possible consequences on this machine ) I'll register with the bugtracker and leave a ticket for issues I found.
Thanks again for your hints tomk.
