Archlinux_x86_64_0.8.2 can't recognize hard disk on Acer aspire 4520g

hello archers

I wanna switch from opensuse to arch, but  arch can't recognize my hard disk.

My computer is Acer aspire 4520g:
AMD Athlon TK-55
2G Memory
NVIDIA GForce 8400M G graphic card
And an 80G Toshiba HD
--------------------------------------------
First time I install arch ISO (x86_64_0.8.2) image from harddisk, but the arch installer can't recognize the HD,
I notice the hard disk LED is always on.

And I reboot to try a second time, when loading installer I pass vga=0361 to kernel, this is a mistake, so  vga=0361 is not
a valid parameter in my system (actually it should be vga=0x361), but amazing, when  I continue the installation
after that mistake, the hard disk can be recognized,  so I can install the core system.

But when installation is done, I reboot the system, the hard disk can not be recognized any more even I try to pass
vag=0361 to kernel.

Somebody can help me?

Thanks!

Did you try to choose an ide-legacy?

Re: Archlinux_x86_64_0.8.2 can't recognize hard disk on Acer aspire 4520g

Yes, I tried.

In the bois I select IDE mode for SATA(another option is AHCI) to support booting WinXP.
But I tried both option,  takes no effect!

I also tried the 11.0.4 ISO, this problem still exists!

Post dmesg output after booting the -0.4 ISO.

Re: Archlinux_x86_64_0.8.2 can't recognize hard disk on Acer aspire 4520g

I use a USB DISK to save the output of dmesg, I also notice that the 11.0.4 installer turn down the lightness of my LCD screen(I passed vga=0x361 to the kernel).

This can not work.

And I have tried several schemes, just found out that I need to pass the wrong vga parameter to the kernel as mentioned before.
Below are the outputs of dmesg.

1. just past vga=361 to kernel, it works!
