cannot start xfce as normal user

Hello, after a reinstall of arch, I couldn't start xfce as a normal user only root. Anyone experiencing something similar?

I'm not able to get an output here because pointing the output to the file like this:

startx > output

Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: cannot start xfce as normal user

check the permissions on the /tmp folder...  they should be 1777 I think.  I seem to recall that a number of people experienced a similar problem and that, if I recall correctly, was one of the solutions mentioned.
