conky + xcompmgr ?

in openbox, autostart.sh:

xcompmgr -c -t-5 -l-5 -r4.2 -o.99 &
conky &

how would my .conkyrc need to be?

i've seen it done before (running effects and conky at the same time)... but when i tried it: things started exploding... i could barely get Alt F2 killall conky to show... : /

Using these options in your conkyrc, conky should work nicely with xcompmgr.
own_window yes
own_window_transparent yes
own_window_type override
own_window_type desktop
