kacpid - 100% cpu usage

Seems to be happening since the new kernel, however this issue is supposedly 'fixed' in the new kernel (from what I have read on mailing lists etc) however I have never had this problem before. This is a pain as it means the CPU temp is high and so fans come on all the time. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I attach a dmesg output:

This is a laptop - HP530 with a coreduo.

Edit: have downgraded to 2.6.24 kernel and at the moment, no crazy kacpid. Will see for a few days and if still all good, will have to attempt patching a kernel (I think there's a patch in the kernel.org bugzilla), although I've never compiled a kernel before...

Any ideas welcome.

Re: kacpid - 100% cpu usage

If it's already on the bugtracker on kernel.org, vote/push for it over there.

Re: kacpid - 100% cpu usage

I have now the same issue with 2.6.26. What gives?? Core2Duo T5500. It goes on for a while, then stops. I'm guessing some userland app is waking it constantly, but what exactly could it be, if it hadn't woken up anything on 2.6.25 ?

Using gnome2 with ekiga, rhythmbox, kadu, pidgin, networkmanager.

I'm thinking it COULD be compiz, but then again it leads to no such issues with 2.6.25.

EDIT:

Yes, downgraded to 2.6.25 and everything is back to normal. No crazy kacpid. I HIGHLY suggest moving 2.6.26 into [unstable] because that is where it belongs.
