Laptop Brightness Changes After Reboot Since Kernel Upgrade

Hi All,

I have just upgraded my kernel, and releated to that nvidia, to version 2.6.25.6-1 and 173.14.05-4 respectively. When I reboot my laptop the screen gets darker once the boot messages show "loading udev rules" or slightly later. Anytime before that message the screen still has the brightness than set during the previous session. As a result I have to adjust the brightness for each login, which is quite annoying given I shutdown my laptop daily.

Anyone having an idea what could cause this and how to resolve? Maybe a coincident this happened after the upgrade and this is in fact a hardware issue?
