Lirc and imon pad :(

Hi,

This is the situation:

With older lirc 0.8.2 and kernel 2.6.25 my ir remote controller (imon pad + vfd) was recognized at boot as a mouse.
I loaded lirc_dev and lirc_imon as modules but no /dev/lirc was created. I also tried to start lircd, irrecord, irw and mode2 but no signals were detected (and no /dev/lirc)

With lirc 0.8.3 ad kernel 2.6.26 it is the same, except that the device is not seen anymore as a mouse..

I get no dmesg errors...

Someone is using lirc or better the same remote ?

Thanks

Re: Lirc and imon pad :(

I think you might need to patch lirc to get it to work the way you want...  Quick google turned up this page: http://brakemeier.de/electronics/vdr/lirc-imon.html  Let me know if you have questions regrading patching.

Re: Lirc and imon pad :(

tried the patch, still not work... (tried with the correct module option according to the guide)
Tomorrow i'll try to build a custom vanilla kernel...

Re: Lirc and imon pad :(

ok, I had to use lirc cvs and apply some patches (I followed this guide: http://mythtvblog.blogspot.com/2008/04/ … -lirc.html)

so all who have a thermaltake DH-101 case or an imon 0038 device (product id) are warned...

Re: Lirc and imon pad :(

Hm, did you take the lirc-cvs linked in the guide or did you take a recent cvs-checkout. The lirc-cvs from the guide does not compile against my 2.6.26/27 kernel. On the other hand the patches from the guide do not work with current lirc-cvs.

Could you explain more in detail how you succeeded?
