able resume from suspend in Console, but not in xfce

I am testing suspend/Hibernation in my laptop.

When I suspend in console, " sudo pm-suspend --quirk-vbestate-restore " would do the job,  However, if I log in to xfce. the same command will fail to work. It is able to suspend, however can't be resume.

Anyone have any idea why is that happen?

Thanks

What graphics card do you have and which X driver are you using?

I can suspend / resume within a GUI environment, but not a text based environment o_0
