[SOLVED] Big problem with video modes

I downloaded the latest release (Overlord)

When kernel boots up, it automatically switches video mode to 40 columns x 25 rows, which is rather unpleasant. But, actually, system is trying to display more than 25 lines. These additional lines are "below" the real screen and remain invisible.

I tried to precise video mode manually, using kernel parameters. I added "vga=ask" and tried to select various modes. In all (vga) cases system displayed  40x25 (and some lines "below" the screen). Framebuffer doesn't work at all (system boots up but monitor is black).

When I select BIOS 132x44 (I don't know what exactly is that option), I have 40x25 again. But there are no additional, invisible lines, and I can see the command prompt.

This problem shows up after the hard disk installation, as well.

The "Don't Panic" release and other distributions work smoothly (I can run all video modes). Overlord on my second computer also works without any problems.

My configuration:
Pentium III 450mhz
320MB Ram
Riva TNT2 32Mb
(anything else is important?)

Please, help...
