Only in fluxbox? Not if you use any other window manager? I guess, hwd -x could help you.

No not only fluxbox, its all window managers. Thats why i wrote X on the subject.

ill try hwd -x .

--edit

hwd -x helped. thanks. I guess the autoscripting of xorg.conf is not the best yet..

Re: vmware + archlinux + X = no keyboard, no mouse [solved]

This says solved, but my problem is so similar that I don`t realy want to open a new thread for this.

I have been using arch under vmware which runs on my gentoo-server happily for a while, but today I made a mistake and updated perfectly working system, just in case. So now when I`m trying to run xorg-server-1.5.3-2 I can`t get my keyboard working. In the past there was some bug in vmmouse so I was using normal mouse driver in X. After update my keyboard and mouse stoped working. I managed to get mouse responding by changing it to use vmmouse driver, but my keyboard is still death. Keyboard works without any problems in console, but not under X. Any ideas are highly welcome.

Okey, bit more careful reading of the logs and I managed to figure it out. x-server 1.5.3 has AllowEmptyInput as a default at least when hot-pluging is on. AllowEmptyInput disables all the devices using mouse or kbd driver, so I just needed to turn that off.

"ServerLayout" section requires line
Option "AllowEmptyInput" "false"

Re: vmware + archlinux + X = no keyboard, no mouse [solved]

AllowEmptyInput disables all the devices using mouse or kbd driver...

Why is this enabled by default? I had to hard reset three times after a clean install mad

Thanks for the solution!

There is even easier solution, just run hal before X. xorg-server 1.5 does input detections through hal, so it is required.
