Now I'm building a new system on my new computer and I need grub2, but C compiler says this when making makefile for grub2:
checking whether objcopy works for absolute addresses... yes
checking if C symbols get an underscore after compilation... no
checking if start is defined by the compiler... no
checking if _start is defined by the compiler... no
configure: error: neither start nor _start is defined
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
==> ERROR: Build Failed.
Aborting...
Error: Makepkg was unable to build grub2 package.
bash-3.2#
And also I'm using ext4, what can you comment about that? what disadvantages there are?

GRUB2 never worked for me in any system... And actually IU think that it is not expected to work often, atm (atm at the pace of gnu software development means: in the next two years). Moreover I do not see a reason why one should NEED grub2. Could you expand this point?

Anyway if you look at the AUR page for GRUB2 you see that the maintainer claims that:
It is at the moment not possible to compile grub2 under a native x86_64 system. It's only possible under multilib environments other distributions use.

I commented that and asked what is multilib?

Whats the difference between grub-gfx and grub2? I know that grub-gfx is 0.97, but it uses graphical menu so it uses some grub2 features?

GRUB Legacy and GRUB-GFX don't support Ext4

That means you also have to install the lib32 packages.

I have installed lib32 packages but how do I use gcc 32bit?

Why not just make a small /boot partition that isn't ext4?
I keep getting distracted from my webserver project...

Idem Leo, try creating a very small ext3 /boot partition ...
