Hi,
I did a system update and for some reason now I can't see the icons in my gtk applications.
(Firefox, Pidgin etc...) and I don't know what to do.
All I see instead of icons and buttons is just a blank button with an X inside (like 404 error)
(I'm using openbox)
Note: I'm not sure about KDE applications cause I don't use them.
Can someone please help?

Try running this:
# /usr/bin/gtk-update-icon-cache /path/to/your/icon/folder

Already tried that as normal user and as root with no luck.

Did something happen to your .gtkrc-2.0 file?

I don't think so:
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
include "/usr/share/themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"
include "/home/nir/.gtkrc-2.0.mine"
# -- THEME AUTO-WRITTEN DO NOT EDIT
